Tanja graduated with her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Masters degree in Language, Reading and Culture from University of Arizona. She has recently completed coursework for her Master of Counseling degree from Ottawa University.
Tanja has personal experience with counseling. Those experiences are what led her to pursue her counseling degree. She loves working with people and has a heart for helping those who are struggling, especially with trauma and grief. She believes that the relationship between counselor and client needs to be built on empathy and trust. She has a talent for connecting with people and seeks to create a safe atmosphere where those hesitant to come to counseling feel welcome, and safe to share their story. She adheres to cognitive behavioral therapy and will integrate other modalities in therapy as needed.
In her leisure time, Tanja enjoys spending time with her family, doing escape rooms, and traveling.
