Renae’s down-to-earth and straight forward approach, mixed with her compassionate, friendly, and non-judgmental nature, helps to establish an environment where clients feel safe working through sensitive and difficult problems. She has personally experienced how counseling can help improve one’s life, relationships, and increase overall wellness. Renae is inspired by the human spirit’s ability to change and views working with clients as a gift and privilege to be alongside them during their journey.
Renae enjoys working with men, women, couples, and teens. She has worked with anxiety, depression, troubled relationships, communication, co-dependency, grief, low self-esteem, parenting struggles, trauma, and betrayal trauma.
Renae is certified in EMDR, Positive Discipline, and trained in the Gottman method (Levels 1 & 2). She uses an eclectic approach including, but not limited to, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, emotional regulation, somatic experiencing, and motivational interviewing, to help her clients heal and build confidence.
Renae graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and has a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
Outside of work, Renae enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years, 5 children, and two grandsons! She loves quilting, lunch dates, and traveling!
